    1. Circled, upper right of window above: Click the drop-down arrow to choose pixels as the unit of measurement. As a general rule, for Web viewing, try to keep the width no more than 580 pixels, and the height no more than 420 pixels.
    2. Circled, lower left of window above: Resolution should be 72 pixels/inch for Web viewing.
    3. As long as the box in front of CONSTRAIN PROPORTIONS is checked, your photo's size will change proportionately.
  6. Sharpen the resized photo:
FILTER > SHARPEN > UNSHARP MASK. Drag the sliders to bring your photo into better focus.
  7. Save the photo in .jpg format:
FILE > SAVE FOR WEB > see screen shot below:
  8. save for web window
    1. Arrow pointing to JPEG: Choose this setting by clicking the down arrow just to the right of the box.
    2. Arrow pointing to Medium: You may choose Low, Medium, High, or Maximum quality. The higher the quality, the higher the file size (circled at bottom of screen shot); the lower the quality, the lower the file size. Experiment to see what looks best--and try to keep your photos around 25-30KB (or lower).
