Add a Background Design to Your Web Page

Go to FORMAT > PAGE COLORS AND PROPERTIES. To add a background design to the page, click on the CHOOSE FILE button. Now navigate to where the background image is stored on your computer (again, it's best to keep all these things in the same folder); then click OK. (My favorite place for finding really neat backgrounds is Helen's Images and the Web).

You can change the default colors for text and links on your page in this dialog box, too. Click on the rectangle of color to the left of whatever you want to change and choose the color you prefer. Remember, though, that text colors must contrast strongly with the background color or design -- otherwise your page won't be very readable.
