Make Your Own Web Page Using Netscape Composer 6.x

Add Links to Another Page in Your Website

Use text to link to another web page in your website.
insert new link iconHighlight the portion of the text you want visitors to click on (for instance, "click here"). Then click the INSERT NEW LINK icon and a dialog box like the one below will come up.

link properties dialog window

Click on the CHOOSE FILE button and navigate to the page you want to link to. Then click OK. Be aware that you won't be able to actually test whether the link works until you save the page and click the BROWSE icon to preview it.

Use a picture or graphic to link to another web page in your website.
insert new link iconClick on the picture so that there is a frame around it. Then click the INSERT LINK icon and the same dialog box will come up.

Click on the CHOOSE FILE button and navigate to the page you want to link to (again, remember that it's best to keep all the pages and pictures for the same website in a single, special website folder). Then click OK. Be aware that you won't be able to actually test whether the link works until you save the page and click the BROWSE icon to preview it.

NOTE: When you turn a picture into a link, Composer automatically puts a border around the picture. You may like this effect, or you may not. If you don't like it, and want to get rid of the border, go to FORMAT - IMAGE PROPERTIES and, where it says SOLID BORDER, make the number 0 (circled below). Click OK.
